LAN is an abbreviation for Local Area Network. A LAN Party is where a group of like-minded people get together to play games, share expertise and socialise in a generally hi-tech environment.
A Reloaded LAN Party consists of a wide range of games and competitions across many platforms, including PC, Xbox, PS3 and Wii.
Reloaded provides:
- 1x power point (if you need more than 1 you may use a double adapter/power board)
- 1x network port (thats right, 1 per person)
- 1x chair (you can in fact, bring your own if you wish to be more comfortable)
- 1x table space for each person. (about 80cm/30" wide per person)
Reloaded is defined as BYOC - that is Bring Your Own Computer/Console and all the associated gear you need to run it.
This should include:
- computer/console
- display monitor/tv (we request that anyone with a monitor or TV larger than 24" notify the admin team when booking seats)
- keyboard/mouse + mousepad/game controller
- headphones/mic
- power cables (for each monitor/pc/console)
- network cable (minimum length 5m, recommended length 10m)
- video cable
- power board / adapter
- apropriate clothing (take note of the weather - it gets cold in winter brrrrrrrr)
- software (whatever games you wish to play, drivers you may need in the event of a breakdown, your operating system disks)
What not to bring:
- UPS - on startup they draw a lot of power, which could trip the power setup
- unhealthy Power Boards / Power Cables - could cause electrical malfunctions and fires (not good things at a lan).
- side by side double adaptors - easy to unplug accidentally and take more space on the supplied power boards.
- personal heaters, kettles or other vast energy consuming appliances
It's important to have an up to date Antivirus program prior to coming to the event.
It is also recommended to updating your
Windows install (or other Operating System),
Steam (if you use it), and any games you play before-hand.
Unless advised, Reloaded will always stage competitions based on the latest official version of the games.
You may not need any of the above if you are playing in our hosted events -
these include PS3 and Nintendo titles, generally fighting competitions and Wii Sports.
We also host Guitar Hero and Rock Band related competitions in two divisions based on skill level of the entrant.
You might be surprised. Reloaded supports a wide range of PC tournaments including -
Counterstrike Source, Call of Duty series, Team Fortress 2, Warcraft III - Defense of the Ancients, Unreal Tournament series, Starcraft, Flatout 2, Red Alert 3 and a range of others going back more than 10 years.
Reloaded also supports a range of console competitions, including Halo 3, Gears of War 2, Call of Duty World at War, Tekken 5, Soul Calibur IV, Streetfighter IV, Guitar Hero, Rock Band, Wii Sports and many more.

Timetables can be found on the website 30 days prior to the next event. You can feel free to suggest competitions or games to the lan via email to the committee or posting in the apropriate forum.
The St. Clair canteen is open throughout the event and has reasonably priced fast food (pies, pasties, sausage rolls, hot dogs) and drinks available throughout the event.

Attendances vary, but average attendance are in excess of 650.
An event like Reloaded is always looking for committed admins to assist us in the hard work we perform each and every event. If you think of something you would like to do at a Reloaded event, please feel free to email the committee at
committee@reloadedlan.org.
You can bring dedicated game servers to the event. They should be handed to the Network Admin (At this time Aetherone), who will place them in the server farm.
You may NOT bring dedicated file servers to the event, and if these are discovered they will be disconnected.
Yes, ideally you need both. You can find more information in the
tickets and reservation tab at the top of the page.
